Anil Kumar Anand, MD

Dr. Anand is a Senior Consultant and Coordinator Department of Radiation Oncology, Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center, New Delhi. Dr. Anand joined Max Healthcare in 2009 as Chief- Radiation Oncology and bears a Pan-max responsibility.  He has a special interest in Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT), Image guided radiotherapy (IGRT), Stereotactic radiotherapy and Intra operative Brachytherapy and has numerous papers published in journals of national and international repute. Dr. Anand was awarded the commonwealth fellowship and worked at The Middlesex Hospital Medical School, London and was also awarded Nargis Dutt Foundation Fellowship at the New York Hospital Medical Centre of Queens, NY, affiliated with Cornell University.

Kaustav Talapatra, MD

Dr Kaustav Talapatra was instrumental in setting up the Radiation Oncology programme at Kokilaben Hospital. He practices evidence based radiation oncology and has keen interest in quality of life issues of cancer patients. Already since the inception of this department he has pioneered, it to be one of the very few centres in the country to start PET based radiotherapy planning.



Reena Engineer, MD

Dr. Reena Engineer is a Professor in Radiation Oncology at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. She has been on faculty at the Tata Memorial Hospital for the past 12 years, with a focus on gastrointestinal and gynecological malignancies. She is involved with various clinical trials related to the malignancies of the above mentioned sites, and has personally designed and conducted various Randomized, Phase-II and pilot studies in these malignancies.


Supriya Jayant Sastri, MD

Dr Supriya Sastri is Professor in Radiation Oncology at Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai. Her clinical expertise is in treating Gynecological and Hepatocellular cancers. Her focus is on high precision procedures (SBRT, IMRT, IGBT) and translational research and has research programme testing above approaches. She also serves as UICC Asia Pacific regional lead and international coordinator for molecular research in EMBRACE studies.  She is member of ASTRO International Education Committee and leads a joint initiative on clinical trial methodology course.


Shaleen Kumar, MD

Professor and Head, Radiation Oncology

A graduate and postgraduate (1991) from King George's Medical College, Lucknow, he trained as a senior resident at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Bombay. He joined on the faculty in 1996. He has 22 publications to his credit, and has been a commonwealth fellow. Principal areas of interest and publications have been in chemo-radiation protocols in head-neck and esophageal cancers. His current area of interest relates to brain tumors including conformal radiotherapy, brachytherapy and esophageal cancer.
